We have moved!
Due to many problems with google marking this blog as spam and being limited to 50 posts a day as well as storage issues we have moved to our new home. This site will still be automacitly updated (Unless google starts to block that as well) , but all future development will be on www.whatimiss.net. The good news is that we now have plans to expand and start logging more than just the edge within the next few months.

Thankyou for all the support we recived with all our problems while on blogger we hope the move to www.whatimiss.net with a wordpress backend will bring a lot of new features.
Search bar is now out of beta!
I have been working on a search bar for quite some time for this site and I feel I now have one that is working well. (Also we are starting to have quite the database to search). As always I would love feedback about the search features or this site in general.
You can use the search bar to look up the name of a song by searching for the lyrics, or you can find statistics on your favorite songs by searching for there names.
Check out our example search: every day is Saturday night, but I cant wait for Sunday morning

Crawl program seems to be having problems! [Resolved]
It would seem our crawl program is having problems and is unable to see new songs played on the edge. I will fix this as soon as I can. And yes we are still marked as spam. More info can be found here!
Edit: The bugs have been resolved without any loss of data!

Well I didn't think our lyric code would last over the holidays, but as far as I can tell it has! Statistics seem to be working also, and we are getting more and more visitors a day! If you found any bugs over the holidays feel free to let us know at edge102-playlist@edwardandrewrobinson.com, or even if you just want to drop us a line and say hi! Now with even less bugs!
We have spent most of our day fixing bugs we hope that the current code will last over the holidays and will try and add lyrics back in in the new year.
Our debug data is still intact but todays posts are pretty much garbage.
Edit: Our lyrics seem to be working now but I would not count on them staying :(
Bugs, bugs, and more bugs!
Any post before this one today should be disgarded we have been having many problems with our code as well as our script to post lyrics has broken.
But our users will get an extra treat for the holidays, all songs now come with stats!
Posting problem has been solved!
It was not due to google as I said in my previous post but instead due to the fact that our code was crashing when trying to fetch song lyrics. But our debugging data is intact and I will repost that if there is demand.
Posting blocked!
Well it would seem that this blog is no longer marked as spam, but something seems to have gone wrong with our posting program, I'm assuming its due to google blocking remote posting only, but I will update you as soon as I can.
About this blog
This blog is currently a work in progress and so far google seem to be marking it as spam. One day I hope to have a full list of every song played on edge 102.1, as well as the lyrics to that song. This will not only let users see what songs have been played but search this blog for song lyrics as well as helping users find the name of a song played on the edge that they know the lyrics to but not the name. But before I can do that google need to let me make the required number of posts per day.

Now with song lyrics
Not only do we now post the song and when it was played on the edge 102.1 but we now also post the lyrics to the song. That way if you hear a song on the edge but don't know the name of it but you know some of the lyrics you can search our blog for the lyrics.

Download debug data
Due to my blog (http://edge102-playlist.com) contently being marked as spam by google, I have decided to host the debugging info from my script on my site. Please keep in mind that this is only the debugging info and that it was not meant for the public eye but I have received a couple of emails asking me for the full data set and so the full data set can now be downloaded here from the downloads section.
yup we are still marked as spam!
But I do have an update, as you see we are now updating the blog every hour with new songs played on the edge.

Spam update
In case you are still interested google still is marking my emails as spam after 50 posts for some reason. All my attempts to rectify this have failed. Yet I have a full list on my computer of the last 5 ish days of edge songs!
Spam Update
While it don't look like we will be spam free anytime soon, the program that I'm using to crawl the edge102 site and post the songs has been improving and the google adds seem to be working. For more info on this bug you can check out my blog or the google group.

Taking all bets on weather or not it will be resolved this time. I bet NO!
